Kerr Cultural Center is ASU Public Events' most
intimate and unique venue. Its 250 seat studio, located in what
is now the heart of north Scottsdale, was built in 1959 originally
as Mrs. Louise Lincoln Kerr's private music studio, in what was
then the middle of the desert. Mrs. Kerr's private residence, built
in the late 1940's and located next door, now houses Kerr's administrative
offices.
Louise Lincoln Kerr was an accomplished musician
and composer, and one of the Valley's most enthusiastic supporters
of the arts. After her death in 1977, she willed her home and studio
to Arizona State University, which dedicated the space in her memory
as the Kerr Cultural Center in 1981.
Kerr Cultural Center pronounces its name the
same way its benefactor, Mrs. Kerr, spoke her name, using the Danish
pronunciation, which sounds identical to "care."

Directions
Kerr Cultural Center is located just to
the southwest of The Borgata, near the corner of Rose Lane and North
Scottsdale Road (Rose Lane is between McDonald Drive and Lincoln
Drive). From the corner of Rose Lane and Scottsdale Road, go west
on Rose Lane past The Borgata (on your right). Rose Lane then curves
to the left. Just after it does, bear left past The Kerr Center
(on your right) and into the Kerr Center parking lot.
Parking
Kerr provides ample, well lighted parking
adjacent to the center.
Admission
Concerts begin at 7:30 PM.
Admission Varies with performer.
